Domestic flying in Japan is ridiclously expensive, and the Shinkansen isn't much better.
Why Osaka? Do you want to go to Kyoto and Hiroshima as well? I couldn't justify a day there, let alone a seperate trip.
btw, Where are you studying in Japan?
I will be studying I think, near Chuo-ku, but I can't say for certain, b/c of the unusual arrangements at my school. I also don't know where I will be living, because that is how they roll.
