I actually really like the Terraces product in general. I like the atmosphere (OK, we've all been in them on a bad day with lots of delays or problems when they're packed, but IME this is the exception not the norm) - that goes for the space, lighting, furniture, business facilities, etc. I am (and have been on many occasions) thankful for the free booze and also for the chance to escape the main terminal mess (flying with 3 colleagues the other day out of LHR, I had to endure the terminal for the first time in several years - yuck!). My two complaints about the Terraces:

1) Paying for WiFi (if you don't have iPass) - totally unacceptable if I'm on a very expensive ticket...or even if I'm there with status which comes from big past spends
2) Food. More/better food would be nice. I'd grade it as 'OK' right now and the unhealthy 'snack' side of it is always good. Breakfast is all I need (fresh fruit/danish/cereal/croissant, etc.) but some more substantial food after breakfast would be good though (I'm thinking a self-service salad bar type thing like a, gasp, Pizza Hut offers or something?)

The wines are not the best in the world, but they're certainly of acceptable quality IMHO.

If you think the Terraces are not up to a premium fare standard, I'd encourage you to check out an AAdmirAAl's Club for a start. And indeed other third party lounges which 'do what they say on the tin' but are nowhere near as nice as the Terraces complexes to actually be in.

matthewuk - I used to advocate the mezzanine too. But every time I've been up there of late the AC has not being trying to freeze me, it's being trying to boil me! It's been awful up there. Lately I tend to just sit by the TV/computers and browse the web.
