Smile Great benefit of being a PE?

I was originally scheduled to fly PHL>DTW>FNT leaving at 7 pm and arriving around 11 pm today, July 1. In the morning, all the weather report indicated deteriorating weather on the east coast from the mid-day. I finished my business early skipping some late afternoon meeting and decided to take off early. Checked in online and it indicated a chance to standby for the 2:30 pm flight connecting through to get to FNT by 8 pm. This was better than I thought so got to the airport only to find out the flight has been delayed an hour and overbooked partly due to cancellation of an earlier flight. The GA indicated the standbys will be cleared after all of the pax board when I asked about 20 minutes before boarding. As the FC is boarding, the GA calls me to come to the desk and gives me a FC boarding pass. Whoopee. Then I begin to wonder if the connecting flight with the same flight number to FNT will still be in DTW when I get there (This was one of those direct flight with a change of aircraft). As soon as I get off the flight at 5:10 through gate 57, I notice the flight to FNT is to depart at 5:33 pm from gate 27. I rush down to the gate by 5:20 pm and the last of the pax are boarding. The GA takes my standby BP after all of the pax board and gives me a FC BP. Whoooooopeeee.
I arrive home on standby flights taking the shortest time AND in FC. How can you beat that?
