I'm a first time poster looking for some advice from travelers with experience with some of the European Hotels.

I'm looking to take that next step in life this winter or spring and propose to my long-time girlfriend -- who has been incredibly understanding and supportive in the face of the non-stop travel my job has resulted in this year. It has been a while since we've had an opportunity to take a vacation together, and I'd like to make my proposal a part of romantic vacation to Europe.

I'm looking for some recommendations on some of the best locations in Europe where I can spend the nearly 100,000 star points I'll have racked up by that time. I'm thinking about a 10 day trip, and am willing to pay the difference if my points won't carry me the distance.

I've looked at splitting the time at some of the properties in Rome, Venice, and Sardinia, and would appreciate any thoughts on those locations, or thoughts on other possible itineraries/hotels.
