Legitimate passengers have a valid ticket and a boarding pass. Bringing a prohibited item through a checkpoiint is a civil offence, unless the item is also prohibited by state or federal law.

It's terrorists the TSA process is intended to detect or deter. Keep ignoring that distinction if you must, I'm happy to keep correcting you .
