I was stuck in this mess this morning, flying on 753 from PHX to SEA. We diverted to PDX due to "fog and broken runway lights". Although AS gave us very little information in PDX, all of the passengers handled the delay well. Most of us just called AS reservations and got the information we needed. Obviously, with 7 extra flights on the ground, AS's ground staff in PDX was stretched a bit thin. Furthermore, they assigned us to unused gates in PDX which had NO computers at them for the agents.

The only thing that was irritating is that we had to wait 2 1/2 hours on the ground in PDX -- supposedly due to ATC delays into SEA. On the other hand, a WN flight pulled in after us, did not deplane the passengers, and left for SEA within 30 minutes. When we finally got to SEA, we had to wait another 30 minutes for a gate.

Obviously, much of this was outside of AS's control. However, it was yet another instance of being 4 hours late.
