NJDavid's right about canceled reward seats not always being returned to available inventory.

Reward ticket availability is determined by CO's yield management programs which evaluate the prospects for selling future tickets based on ticket sales to date and past ticket sales experience. Since there has been a period of time since you first made the reservation, the allocation could well have changed.
