I had some friends that went last year and said that it has gotten really ugly and they won't be back. I heard the same thing about the Black Party in NYC this year. Both of these events have gotten the reputation for not being as much fun as in years past.
Wonder what they meant by "ugly"? New Orleans is hot and sweaty that time of the year and yes the bars have horrendous cover charges and drink prices for special events, but a fun time can still be had. The "objectors" win if we allow them to detract from this event.
I don't know anything about the Black Party.
