They've hired a new chef recently. I think the food has improved. It was never really bad, but it certainly was never the greatest in L.A. Cost? For two people it will run about $100. That's cheap by L.A. standards. However, the tab is usually higher because of the liquor that patrons purchase during and between shows. The overall experience is worth the cost of the visit, however, to tag it as a
haute cuisine place would be a stretch. It's a great place to take a date. Also, quite a few celebs are members.
About every other visit to L.A. I will pop in for a meal and the shows. For clients, I just send them passes, but seldom accompany them. As a member I can just pop in for the shows and not eat there, as long as I don't go to the main show. Quite frankly it is the close up magic that fascinates me, whereas the stage magic, which is the main show, does not really hold my interest as much as the parlor [close up] magic.
