$18k is a ton of cash -- 2 BC tickets to Europe can often be purchased for around $2-$2.5k each. A week at a top hotel -- $3k, a weeks car rental-- $1k. That's 9k max. With some shopping around one could easily get that sticker down to $5-$6k. Which after taxes still won't be free but a far cry from $18k.
