With all the existing travel agents scrambling for a piece of less and less total business, I'd make darn sure this is the only career I'm interested in before heading that way. It sounds like fun, but for the foreseeable future it's a lousy way to get rich. You have to have a niche. Chances are dozens of other people thought of it first and are established in it to a degree. Training programs have scaled way back in the past few years because of dropping (or no) demand.
