This sounds like a perfectly sensible policy. Glad to hear it is just Virgin who seem to have become so uptight - like I said, they actually made a general announcement that they would be rationing alcohol for your health and for the safety of the flight. Fair enough to stop people if they are getting drunk but to put the whole economy cabin on notice like that is downright patronising.

Interesting that on my flights in F (and NCW I guess) there has been absolutely no problem with getting more than a bit "tipsy". ^ I guess it is much easier for the crew to monitor the situation in a smaller cabin with a better staff ratio and to spot who is likely to cause trouble and who will just enjoy themselves and then fall asleep.
