I agree with the comments posted here. There is overwhelming stress and uncertainty for many of the employees. How would you feel knowing that your replacement was being trained as preparation for a strike? NW is in serious financial condition, they don't have the money to waste on these trainees just for show.

I've only taken a few flights this month, but I didn't see that stress bubbling over. My experiences have been professional and courteous.

I only flew TWA once, just before they shut down. I got rerouted by NWA due to mechanical problems. "IS TWA ok? I can get you in first class", the GA tells me. "Sure that's great as long as it's first class", I replied.

I must have had my head in the sand or elsewhere that week, because TWA WAS GOING ON STRIKE AT MIDNIGHT AND IT WAS A 7PM FLIGHT STL-SFO!

Now that flight was less than professional, the tension was very high. I thought they were just going to toss the food from the galley, forget the cart.
