It is very disturbing, but not a precedent. Amtrak/United was terminated with no warning at the end of 2004. While we know they can according to the rules of the programs, this will cause travelers to rethink their options--not good for the carriers cutting benefits.

AS has been proud of the fact that they have been tied in with many FF programs, but with the general tightening up of things recently one would have to wonder how long AS can remain involved in so many FF programs.
