Login to United's web site. Then go to planning travel and then 'Update Profile'. Then go to 'Display Preferences' and pick 'an expert' in the Availability Format. Save this profile change. Then either try to do a booking for an award seat or use the multi city option and you will see the inventory. There are threads out what the codes mean.
A problem you will run into is that you might e.g. see Z class inventory available but you can not book it. This can happen if you book a flight from the US to Europe but this inventory is only available if you book from Europe to the US.
