I am somewhat confused regarding the mechanics of applying and reapplying for AA MC. I found some nice summaries for the United cards, but not AA. So here my questions - and my conjectures. Does anybody know the real answers?

Q1: After applying for a card, how long do you have to wait to apply for a 2nd/3rd... card to get the bonus miles?
A: I have no clue, for united it is 90 days.

Q2: Are time restrictions (Q1) valid if you apply for a different kind of card (e.g, gold vs. plat)?
A: I got a plat after i had gold for 10 months and got bmiles for both, so not sure

Q3: Is there a certain period for which you have to hold the card or else they take back the miles?
A: at united it is 6 months.

Q4: if you cancel within a year, is there a pro rata refund of the annual fee?
A: i had gold, then got free free plat and closed my gold account. got pro rata refund for the gold.

Q5: What is the limit of applications (where they don't give you miles any more, even though you have observed Q1-3)?
