No, you must be flying a different airline, East-West. Never in over 25-years of flying AC in its F and J cabins has this happened, nor as I noted in all my time as an SE and the last few months as an Elite. In fact, on those occasions when the meal choice was not available -- and I was an SE -- I made a point of noting how UA took orders and FAs agreed it made sense, but they'd never been instructed to do so.
BTW, this could not be done properly if status of Aeroplan award travelers does not appear on the manifest as Es and SEs would appear as non-status travelers.
