Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in Cowtown, albeit a couple of weeks before the annual Stampede gets underway.

The original Westin tower was built in 1964 and the most recent reno in 2002 still makes it just an 'OK' SPG property in my books. The newer Sheraton Eau Claire is great with all rooms considered 'suites'; therefore, it usually commands higher rates than the Westin.

There is one more Sheraton out by the airport which was recently reno'd which is acutally not too bad although there is not much to do out in that part of town.
