I thought this zone-mixing was either not encouraged or not allowed at all. In other words, you'd have to claim one full ticket for each zone rather than just half of each zone. The Houston Chronicle Travel section editor complained about this when trying unsuccessfully to get a to-Europe, return-Caribbean ticket to match up with a transAtlantic cruise.
Has anybody else managed this? Does it matter if the zones are near each other?
