I had this happen at a Residence Inn that I used for three months while house hunting related to a job change. I spoke to the manager and said that, while I appreciate the effort to make me feel valued, I thought it would be best for all of their clientele if the staff made an effort to treat everyone the same. So I was trying to make a positive out of negative, suggesting that, if they didn't know EVERYONE as well as they knew me, then the staff should be a little less "friendly". It worked out okay, and after that the "creepy" stuff went away without incident.

I'd definitely draw the line at the "friendly punch on the shoulder". Physical contact (beyond a handshake) between me and the staff would be a no-no in my book, mostly because I would never presume to react that way to someone else.
