Voice minutes is kinda irrelevant to me (we never use all that our plan includes). I am just hoping to get a close-to-analog-phone-line type of connection for low-bandwidth activities when sitting in an airport or elsewhere
I'm in the same boat with 'ya there. Only use the cell phone/laptop hookup to check emails and emergency web browsing on the rare occasion when no other form of internet connection is available. So time and bandwidth is not that important to me in those rare situations when I don't have regular hardline dial-up or high speed access. I just need to be able to do it, if I have to do it.

Currently I use a Data Cable to connect my laptop to my cell phone. I'd like to use my laptop's built-in Bluetooth to do this connection wirelessly (one less cable to haul), but currently my cell provider (Verizon) has disabled the necessary DUN Bluetooth profile in all their Bluetooth phones.

So until they release one that isn't crippled and permits this, I'm stuck using the old cable to connect the laptop and phone together.
