Even though you can book international travel on delta.com, I've been frustrated with the availability. I was looking for an award ticket to LIM next year and had no problems seeing the Skysaver and Skychoice availability for the outbound flight. However, for the return flight, all I got was a 'Sorry, please call Skymiles' message. I thought maybe it is the date(s) I chose, but I looked for two weeks worth of dates and NOTHING...not even Skychoice. So, I called Skymiles and the rep easily found several SKYSAVER flight on those same dates. I also found the exact same flights on Northwest's website for the same miles. This is frustrating since I rather not paid the $5 booking fee and I want my 1,000 bonus miles.

Finally, the Skymiles rep transferred me to a Tech Helpdesk person to see if he can answer my q-tions, but all he could do was CONFIRMED that there is no availablity for the return leg. I told him that the Skymiles phone rep had no problems booking my flight two minutes earlier (and gave me choices) AND I found the same Delta flights on nwa.com!!! He said the phone vs internet inventory might be different (FRUSTRATING!) and claims that partner website might not be accurate (maybe true, but I COULD book that flight w/ NWA!). I know I read something about this before (yes, I did a search, too), but does anyone know the real story behind the discrepancy in availability?!?!
