It is definately cut back and it has been in stages since the Acelas went offline. In early may on the Metroliner it was similar food to on Acela in first. Then last week and the week before it was just salads and sandwiches. The turkey sandwich was actually pretty good but it isnt like it was on the Acela. I agree they should be upgrading service to compensate for the loss of the Acela not downgrading it. It makes first much less attractive. That said, they seem to be frequently selling out first. Ive had to pick around on trains to be able to get it. I still would rather take the train than fly on the shuttles.
