Next week, my boyfriend is on a 3p flight and I am on a 5p flight. If I get done early, I might standby for the 3p flight. However, the 5p flight looks fairly empty right now, and if that continues, my boyfriend might standby for the 5p flight.

If he decides to standby for the later flight, should he or should he not use Easy CheckIn Online? If you check-in online, it says you should call if you will not make your flight, but I am wondering if it is easier to have that boarding pass, miss the flight, and then go to the gate for the 5p to get on the standby list. (We are flying out of ORD, so the lines might be long if he waits to check-in until we get to the airport, or is the Easy Checkin kiosk good about rerouting someone to the next flight if they miss the check-in for the first?)
