Agreed. Cutting First service is a terrible idea. Amtrak should be making a dedicated effort to keep its premium travellers.

Moreover, the current temporary points system provides even more motivation to not ride the Metroliners. If I'm not going to get good First class service and food, then why not just travel in Business? At that point, why pay more to ride Metrobusiness for 500 points, when I can ride Regional Business and get 750? I guess the double points on Metroliner for the next month makes some sense now.
