Seatmaps are not a reflection of seat availability

Hi Folks,
I often see many of you refer to the fact that the online seat maps show availability, yet you are not getting your upgrades at the various expected time for elite upgrades.

Seat maps are a reflection of assigned seats, and not a reflection of sold seats.

For example, I flew LAX-EWR-ROC on the night of the 16th. The flight was an equipment sub from 753 to 764. The seatmap showed about 9 empty BF seats, yet 36 BF seats had been sold for the flight (Oversold by 1).

As I have employee access as well as being an elite flyer, it is easy to check the actual loads, and I assure you that there is very little if any correlation between the online seatmap at co.com and what is actually going on with sales.

Please keep this in mind when booking trips.

Jeremy
