Trip adviser is very good for hotel ratings and critique. Lonely Planet is quite good for general advice , although as mentioned before , mostly biased towards the budget/backpacker type traveller. However, do not discount this as there is a mountain of information on their threads.

It really all depends on what you are looking for, the type of advice you are looking for etcetera.
