Now, this is pure speculation, but here goes.

Blackstone partners has just bought the Wyndham hotel franchise -- or what is left of it -- and they already had purchased the NYC Righa Royal, which is no longer a Marriott property.

Blackstone is to pump $40 into the Righa's renovation, as well.

I have no idea what they plan to do with the Wyndham properties they have purchased -- whether to run the hotels as a chain -- or perhaps farm them out like has been done with the remaining Adams Mark properties, etc.

However, if it is the latter, then I would not be surprised if Hyatt were to make a pitch in a very BIG WAY for the all suite Righa Royal as a Park Hyatt NYC property.

Time will tell.
