I would certainly add my dittos to Prague and Dresden.

Berlin isn't very far away by train either, since you mentioned you like interesting big cities and Dresden is about halfway between there and Prague. It certainly has the wildest architecture extremes you're going to see anywhere in Europe. One can't deny its historical significance and you'll find plenty of good food. I've been three times and enjoy it more each visit.
