Very hot in A320 row 12 and deteriorating service

I flew OAK-JFK yesterday afternoon and was seated in the exit row. It was very hot, so I asked the FA to turn the temp down and what the temp was. The captain said it was 72.3 deg F, and agreed to lower the temp. After that, and following consumption of large quantities of ice, the temp did feel a little more comfortable, but it was still warmer than I'd like.

FA said that it was usually hot in the middle of the A320 aircraft, and cooler near the front. I conducted a walk-through of the cabin, and the FA was right. Much cooler near the front and rear, much warmer in the center.

Separate note:
Service has deteriorated a bit. On past flights, if I rang the call button an FA would come right away. This time, no FA came and I had to inconvenience my seatmates to get up and walk to the galley. Also, on my JFK-OAK flight, there was a hole on the window shade and the aft right toilet ran out of water. When I was talking to an FA about the water, he made eye contact with me, but continued stuffing his face with a banana instead of replying to my questions. Didn't seem to care much about the fact that the water was gone, and didn't make a plane-wide announcement about lack of water. Really rude.

Finally, it seems to me that my jetBlue flights are reliably late these days - you can quite safely bet that your flight is going to be late.
