The pilots have taken a 20 percent pay cut on their recent union contract. Not to mention that the employees on the ramp were just let go. The next year is going to be tough on the airline...passengers and employees alike.
I'm not sure whether I was a victim yesterday of pilots or ramp workers or just bad luck, but both my flights were delayed. One flight got in over 2 hours late because the inbound flight was late. I didn't get much more explanation than that, so who knows what happened. The other flight boarded a bit late and then sat at the gate while we apparently had problems with baggage being loaded. The pilot gave us updates at least. He sounded a bit embarrassed that the loading of the baggage was causing a delay. (I also had my itinerary changed without being notified and when I got to the airport had to have them fix it. Then they changed it again after I checked in and I had to have it fixed at the gate when my boarding passes were no good. Good grief.)

Fortunately I shouldn't have any more AS flights until August. Hopefully things will be better by then.
