The lack of interlining is one of the reasons that LCC's are cheaper. You just have to view the approx USD 10 cost per piece of luggage as a cost of flying Jet instead of a mainline carrier. There isn't a way around it unless Jet accepts luggage more than 4 hours before departure time (most do not). It is still a lot cheaper than flying BA or whatever (which would have taken care of your luggage).
