Recently from TLV to EWR, Continental 777, front section business/first, there was no sleep allowed! Because of an electrical problem, they could not turn off the bright overhead lights for the night flight home. Additionally, the seat belt light signs were inoperable. Upon writing Cont., the return e mail left much to be desired, and did not even indicate whether an investigation would ensue. The great flight going was obviously balanced out by the sleepless trip coming home, and we would have been better off in economy where the lights were in fact off. Has anyone experienced a similar problem, and if so, what was done about it?
