I have been to Amsterdam countless times and found the gay hotels nice. My decision to stay at the gay hotels in the location of each one to the club scene. If I wish to visit the bars, The Web, or C-Ring Disco, I will stay at the Stable Master Hotel or the Hotel New Amsterdam (this was the Notel New York) both of these hotels are well kept with attention to your needs of comfort.

If I wish to visit the social establishments Spyker Bar, Camp Cafe, Aril Bar, or Exit Disco, I will stay at the Hotel Golden Bear, Hotel Aero, or in a pinch The Village Hotel which is mixed but on the Kerekstraat.

I have stayed at Marriot, Crowne Plaza, Jolly Hotel, 7 Bridges, Cok Hotels, Ibiz Hotel, Kroskapolski, Grand Hotel, Single Hotel and City Hotel. I have also rented apartments but no house boat, yet.
