Trip Suggestions Requested: Central Europe

My wife and I are flying from the US, arriving in PRG on July 4. We have 12 days to explore as we like, returning to the US out of LGW on July 17. We bought a cheap, separate LJU-LGW ticket for 7/16, but we're open to other ways of getting to LGW for our return, depending on our actual travel path.

I'm looking for suggestions of places we should visit in Central/Eastern Europe. Suggestions for places we haven't considered are welcome, as are opinions/votes.

Places considered so far:

Prague -- very likely
Cesky Krumlov -- want to go, but is it worth 3hrs by bus each way?
Krakow -- want to go, but would like to avoid long train ride
Eger -- we're not into wine, is it worth it?
Budapest -- not sure; heard good things but is it too hot in July?
Ljubljana -- read some disparaging stuff on this board; maybe 1 day here?
Julian Alps
Dubrovnik
Plitvice Lakes

Things we don't care for:
* Alcoholic beverages (including beer) or wine tasting
* Night clubs or what's usually considered the "clubbing" scene
* Long train rides (I don't sleep well on trains or planes)
* Beaches (unless there's a scenic town(s) to go with it, like in the Cote d'Azur)

Things we like
* Beautiful, quaint towns
* Interesting big cities (Paris and Bangkok are among our favorites)
* Architecture (ranging from ancient to modern deconstructivist)
* Places of historical or "unusual" significance
* Food, but typically not the $$$ stuff
* Places of natural beauty or wonder

I haven't found an LCC that links the cities in Eastern Europe without requiring two segments. Any advice on that is also appreciated.
