I'm not sure what you are talking about. In my experience, Aman doesn't discount any more than they advertise.
Aman is a great hotel. Do a search here and you will find some reviews. In terms of Aman vs. Banyan Tree, Aman is way better than Banyan Tree. Service is the best you'll find. Yes, the Banyan Tree gives you a private pool for a cheaper price. However, the food and service at the Aman is infinitely better. It is very quiet. You can still go outside to eat. Not sure on your budget, but if you take a villa, we found that we never went out to eat. The cook buys whatever we you in the morning and cooks whatever you want for all your meals.
The other option is the Trisara. Lower price point. Get more for your money but service is still lacking when compared to the Aman. Trisara rooms are more modern though. When we went 2 months ago to the Trisara, their service still needed a lot of fine tuning as they just opened. However, the room was great for the price and it was very quiet. They are more remotely situated than Aman.
