FNU = First Name Unknown

Apparently, with the State Department and Federal Law Enforcement (including ICE), if the person's passport does not have a name written in the surname field, the entire name will be generally considered to be the surname and "First Name Unknown" (or "FNU") will be used in the "Given Name" field.

Now how does this apply or not apply to the musical artists Madonna or Prince?
