Looking at the rules for a Q fare pulled at random I find
CO-TERMINALS
-THE FOLLOWING GROUPS OF CITIES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE SAME POINT BUR - LAX - LGB - ONT - SNA, EWR - HPN/ISP/JFK/NYC, HPN - ISP/JFK/NYC, ISP - JFK - LGA, BRO - HRL - MFE - , EFD - HOU - IAH, FLL - MIA - PBI, OAK - SFO - SJC, BWI - WAS, DAL - DFW, MDW - ORD.
This means that in case of flight irregularities they can dump you at a Co-Terminal airport without recourse. It seems to me that they should make the same accomodation to a passenger in the case of a schedule change.
I would suggest calling reservations, ask for a supervisor, and then ask what does "Co-Terminal" mean in the rules.
