In late April, I called AA customer service and requested the Platinum Challenge. Several days later my spouse and I flew Lit-Lgw on L class fares, upgraded with miles to business. Once we returned home and the flights posted to AA, our status was not upgraded to Platinum. I called customer service, and the agent, after checking the files, made us both Platinum. I later checked to see if any bonus miles had posted (qualified for EUR05), and noticed the Q points did not reflect the 1 point per mile that L is supposed to earn. I called again, and that agent said the upgrade had changed the L fare class, so the Q points had not been calculated correctly. She put me on hold for a long time, then came back and said she had put all the flights back to L.
It has now been several weeks, and the Q points remain the same. What is the best way to handle this? I am delighted to have the new status, but I really wanted the bonus miles too. Any suggestions?
