I do think that if you know that homosexual activity is against the law in a country you are visiting, you should refrain if at all possible, in order to save your own hide but also because you can get in trouble the locals with whom you play. It's dangerous and foolish.

But I disagree with the notion that the US government should abandon Americans abroad who are being persecuted for their sexual orientation.
