I guess that was an unfortunate wording on my part - what I meant was that you should hurry to deplane. However the waiting room is fairly large so even with 16 rows ahead of you, it should be easy to get a bench to yourself as long as you don't dawdle. The folks in steerage usually think they can sit on the plane in Guatemala (and then they get booted off after everyone else deplanes) so you should have plenty of time).

I've taken this route twice in 2005 both in Biz(F). Both times, I have asked politely to check out the GUA airport (both southbound and northbound) and been rejected.
I asked if I could leave the waiting area on both my north/southbound trips (April, 2004) and was denied. I was in paid F for both (not that it matters).
