You can leave the holding area in Guatemala. The attendants take your BP stub and give it back to you when you return. As they do require you to go back through security once you leave the holding area, they do try to limit the number of people who leave. If you want to walk around, be one of the first to get to the podium. On the flight down, there's nothing open in the airport at that time of the morning except a place to get some coffee, IIRC.

1A&C are fine as you have no one reclining into you, but you also don't have as much legroom as in the other rows of F and not nearly as much as the first row of Y (row 9 - exit). 1C has less legroom than 1A or B. You won't be deplaning all that quickly from row 1 as the exit used for deplaning is behind F at row 9.
