I guess SPG is better than the other if you are looking for Airline miles in non MR airlines or for SPG stays. But I like MR for their Hyatt Ritz and Fairmont coupons. So it would matter which affintiyy program you prefer.
I also think SPG gives a rotten value for 1:3 ratio. It should be 1:1 then Amex would see a lot more SPG jump over to MR.
