Award travel (different routings possible?)
I recently booked an award trip for travel from HNL to ICN with a stopover in NRT. There was no award availability at united.com and when I called, they didn't have any direct flights. After working out different routings, HNL -> KIX -> HND -> ITM -> ICN -> NRT -> HNL was available. Later, availability popped up for HNL -> NRT -> ICN -> NRT -> HNL so I changed my flight but I found it interesting how flexible award tickets were.
Later this year, I am going to be going to LAX but wouldn't mind going to NRT and ICN, too. I was wondering if it's possible to go from HNL -> LAX -> NRT -> ICN -> NRT -> HNL
A saver award to Asia from HNL in Business is 60,000 miles. I don't know how a routing from HNL to ICN through LAX would be classified but I know a flight to Asia from LAX would be 90,000 miles for business. Does anyone know if I could do the routing for 60,000 miles?
