Don't forget, there's a $35 difference in favor of the Westin! Seriously, though, have you ever stayed at the Westin Shanghai? It is quite luxe.

BTW, taxis in Shanghai are really cheap, like $2-4 to go anywhere in the city, so I wouldn;t be too worried about the St. regis being out of the way.
But as others have mentioned, surface traffic can be snarled at times. The (even cheaper) subway to/from Pudong can be a good alternative to taxis. (And the maglev between Pudong and the airport rocks!)
