There was a similar proposal a couple of years ago, followed by a contentious discussion about whether or not this sort of thing was appropriate. Bottom line was that it's OK to arrange get-togethers whose activities are designed to appeal primarily to a particular group - under/over age X, GLBT, or anything else - but it is absolutely, positively
not OK to restrict them. Any FTer who's interested in those activities, whatever they are, must not only be allowed to attend, but must not be made in any way to feel unwelcome.
If you can live with that approach, go for it. (I'm far enough over 25 that I probably won't show up.)
BTW - just notice you're from Brisbane. Where were you on Friday the 3rd when we had an FT dinner at the Breakfast Creek Hotel, or were we all too old?
