This is just one of the reasons I am ready to dump this card and program, which I plan to do once they credit everything I have due. Why can't they be like any other program and just give you the points as you make the purchases? And then they tell you that the points aren't really available until "the charges are paid in full." Personally, I think it's to keep you off balance and make it very difficult to track what you are owed. Any other credit card that I am aware of, if you make the charge by the closing date, they just credit the points or miles to the account without all the bull****.
When you log into your account online, on the MR summary page, there will be a column that says pending points. I don't look at paper statements as the information lags far behind. My closing date is around the 23rd of the month. If I log into my account now, the pending points are from my May statement. A few days to a week after my June statement closes, those pending points will be updated and show up as available points online. MR points from each month don't become available until you pay in full because they're based on charge card spending, not credit cards. I don't find it difficult to track and as mentioned earlier, you can always ask them to accelerate points once your statement is paid. I've asked them to do this on several occasions.
