i was (attempted) pick pocketed at one of the bazaar's in istanbul, a number of years ago. as a fairly large and well-trained man, i was able to stop the 3 man attack. it was not pleasant however. this has never happened to me before or after in 30 years of international travel. while i know this could happen anywhere, i simply would not return to istanbul.
