Don't kill the messenger... I don't think that have any sub-routines running comparing current vs. new status and adjusting the e-mail.
What exactly do you want it do say? "Here you go dip$hit, fly more often and you won't have this problem."
Everyone gets the same message... I bet folks that were comped get the same thing. As part of by comped HP Platinum status, I was able to get comped to Hyatt Platinum. I don't recall ever staying at a Hyatt, but I got a nice letter thanking me for my continued patronage... yada yada yada.
Typically people outside hub markets get more perks than folks near a hub. It is a good "business decision", but alienates people like me that live near hubs. It sends a clear message that CO does not value my business as much as a guy on ORD.
But this is the airline industry and that is the nature of the beast... same reason that I get all of those "fantastic" promos from DL and UA.
