Is Airline responsible for losing my garmet bag's Shoulder Strap when SkyChecked?
Whenever I check in my garmet bag I put the shoulder strap into one of the outside pockets. On a recent trip with AC though, I was stopped at the door to the plane and asked to SkyCheck the garmett bag because it was a small plane. So I left my garmett bag on the ramp and in the hussle to get on the plane I forgot to play it safe and put the strap into a pocket. Needless to say upon arrival the strap was missing. I filed a missing baggage claim with the airline (Hopefully it will be located) but the guy said that the Airline is "Not responsible for shoulder straps" I asked if this applied for SkyCheck as well and he respondid in the afirmative.
I'm wondering if anyone knows the fineprint, and or a strategy on how to proceed.
I'm also wondering if AmericanExpress baggage insurance will cover it?
I'm not going to worry too much about it (It can't cost all that much), but I guess I'm just a little frustrated.
Thanx
